Energy Transition Plan

Michigan State University’s Energy Transition Plan is a living document that was created by the Energy Transition Steering Committee, a 24-member group of MSU faculty, staff, and students whose charge was to develop a plan to help MSU reliably meet its future energy needs while keeping a close eye on cost and environmental impact.

With extensive input from experts both inside and outside the university, as well as from the MSU and surrounding communities, the committee has crafted a high-level, strategic plan to guide the university’s renewable energy future. The ultimate goal of the plan is to help create an environment in which the university is powered by 100 percent renewable energy.

President Simon has received the plan from the committee, and the MSU Board of Trustees is scheduled to vote on the plan at its April meeting.
