Help recognize leaders in diversity

Dear Spartans,

As MSU continues its vital work to advance diversity, equity and inclusion, the opportunity to recognize those moving us toward a more safe, respectful, welcoming and supportive campus is presented once again.

Nominations are now being accepted for MSU’s Excellence in Diversity Awards, which are conferred each spring.

Since 1990, the EIDA program has supported MSU’s standout contributors by recognizing individuals, teams, units and organizations that go beyond daily expectations to demonstrate outstanding leadership and creativity to support diversity at MSU.

MSU was a leader when it initiated the EIDA program some 30 years ago, and leadership and excellence in the area of diversity is modeled every day by fellow students, faculty and staff members, and by teams, units and organizations. All of us benefit from their work and examples and from the visibility the awards program lends to their efforts and achievements.

The 2021 award categories are:

INDIVIDUALS — Excellence Within Community
TEAMS — Excellence Within Community
UNITS/ORGANIZATIONS — Excellent Progress Toward Achieving Diversity and Pluralism

This year’s nomination deadline is Nov. 13 by 5 p.m. The EIDA program website includes a link to the nomination form and other guidance.

I encourage you to support this program and nominate an individual or group representing the best of MSU in this important area.
