Sept. 14, 2021: MSU strategic plan released

Dear Spartans:

Shortly after I arrived at MSU just over two years ago, I asked Senior Vice President Vennie Gore and Dean of University Libraries Joe Salem to lead an inclusive strategic planning process. Over the past 20 months, the strategic planning steering committee has engaged students, staff, faculty, alumni and donors. The collective contributions of the Spartan community, together with guidance and endorsement from the MSU Board of Trustees, have created a robust, shared vision for our future.

MSU 2030: Empowering Excellence, Advancing Equity and Expanding Impact puts people first, prioritizing the success of students, staff and faculty.

I invite you to explore the plan. It is a strong framework to help focus our efforts and resources throughout this decade.

Thanks to all who facilitated and contributed to this initiative. Our journey has really just begun, but I’m confident our aligned efforts — guided by this plan — will lead MSU to greater excellence and impact.

Sincerely,

Samuel L. Stanley Jr., M.D. (he/him)
President
