Dear Colleagues,
As you are aware, Cynthia Jackson-Elmoore recently accepted the position of Provost and Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. With her transition, I have asked Wanda Lipscomb, Senior Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion in the College of Human Medicine and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, to serve as the new co-chair for the DEI Steering Committee, working with current co-chair Luis Garcia. Wanda has a long history as a DEI champion, and in February she received MSU’s Lifetime Achievement Award through the Excellence in Diversity Recognition and Awards Program. She also serves as a Faculty Excellence Advocate (FEA) in the College of Human Medicine. Wanda has already been serving as a member of the DEI Steering Committee and will be able to seamlessly transition into her new role as co-chair.
