A cornerstone of the strategic planning process is the ongoing engagement with the broader Spartan community. The voices and perspectives of leadership, faculty, staff, students and alumni, as well as other key stakeholders, are vital to creating a shared vision for Michigan State University in the 21st century. Throughout the planning process, numerous opportunities for engagement have and will be available to share ideas and input with the planning committee.
Over the fall semester, the Values Development subcommittee began the collaborative work of forwarding a set of stated values for Michigan State University. After initial input and work sessions, a set of institutional values was drafted and shared with campus stakeholders.
Numerous moderated listening sessions have taken place, and many individual responses have been received through the website. The subcommittee has provided the following engagement report which includes a description of the process, draft values statements and specific feedback across constituencies. (The values development process is not finalized and this report summarizes work to date.)
